DHA – Dubai Health Authority
Healthcare professionals in Dubai need a DHA license to practice. Internationally, DHA exams are recognised as being among the toughest and most difficult to pass. DHA exams are usually taken by highly qualified professionals with years of experience. If one does not have any experience or formal training, it is recommended that they get some sort of professional assistance (e.g. a mentor) before attempting to write the DHA exam(s), as trying to pass an exam without having sufficient knowledge is quite disheartening and costly.
Who Can Apply For The DHA License?
Anyone can apply for the license, as long as they have obtained a recognised and accredited degree. Whether or not you are an Emirati national is irrelevant. However, non-Emiratis who apply for the license requires an approval letter from their sponsor (the individual who is responsible for them).

DHA Exam Schedule
The DHA exams are usually scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Dubai. However, it is important to confirm this because sometimes, the DHA exams are shifted due to public holidays and other events.
What Happens If I Don't Pass The Exam?
If an applicant fails between 0-20% of any given exam section, he/she has one chance more to rewrite that particular section provided that there are vacancies left. Note that those who fail 21% or more of a given exam section will not be eligible to reapply.
How Much Does It Cost in Total?
The total cost of applying for the DHA exam is AED 5500 (approx. US$1695), which is considered a very low price considering the fact that one has to take all three parts of the DHA exams, which is a very time-consuming process. DHA fees are paid in full and cannot be segmented into parts. In addition, the candidate has to pay for travel expenses from their country to Dubai as well as accommodation if they have booked it with the British Council. The British Council will book and pay for one hotel room during exam week. However, if you want your family members to stay with you then you need to request more than one room (and add this expense into your budget).
